My non-Harry Potter reading husband joins me to talk about the Politics of Determination in Chapter 20 of Goblet of Fire and how the hero's journey is about fate. We also talk about the Ministry of Magic as a political entity that is thrust upon wizards, how being a wizard is not an act of choice, Hermione and Ron's heavy lifting (Ron does some emotional labor, Hermione does all the book work), and we sort the Brooklynn 99 characters into Hogwarts Houses (because, why not?).
